Have you ever wondered about the appeal of building paper planes? Christian Klemm and Christopher Sens took a look and found a recurring pattern: A plane is built, immediately tried out and then optimized with the goal to create the most beautiful flight path. From an experience design point of view, this allows for at least two improvements: an aesthetic enhancement of the flight path itself and an ability to collect flight paths – as a memory or a cool way to impress buddies.
Have a look at the video for experiments with the aesthetic enhancement of the flight path:
And the final concept: an iPhone application, which collects flight paths.
