Am Freitag, 21. Dezember 2012 um 19.00 Uhr findet die Eröffnung der Ausstellung „Weißes Leinen“ von Frank Josten statt. Frank ist ein Freund unserer Arbeitsgruppe und fertigt unter anderem Illustrationen und Storyboards für verschiedene unserer Projekte an. Wir freuen uns auf die Ausstellung in der Werkstatt Bleichhäuschen in Rheda-Wiedenbrück.
My finish friends from Media City at Åbo Akademi University have a good reason to celebrate: it’s their 10th anniversary. Turning 10 is pretty serious, that’s why they put together a serious birthday seminar, revolving around transmedia storytelling, multiplatform design, and brand issues, featuring Lina Srivastava, Ben Grass, Stephen Stokes, and myself. I sincerely hope my take on telling stories through things will not be too strange for the audience. I further read the key words “cocktails” and “party” down on the program. I faintly remember “eyes on experience” in 2009. Fun!
Beauty – a topic always good for serious research and heated debates, facts and fiction. Interaction-design.org further extends their wonderful encyclopedia with a chapter by Noam Tractinsky on “Aesthetics in HCI”. Here is a sneaky preview …
Am Freitag, den 3. Februar 2012, treffen sich zum ersten Mal alle meine internen und externen Doktoranden. Ich hoffe auf einen spannenden Tag, regen Austausch und einen netten Ausklang im Bedouin.

Last week I visited Media City at the Abo Akademi University in Vasa, Finland. On my way home, I took a little detour via Tampere and gave a lecture at the UCIT PUX 2010 summer school. I enjoyed it very much. (I hope the audience did so as well.) Thank you for the invitation.
I always intend to make a lot of photographs, a nice little visual trip report, and usually end up with nothing to show. It happened again. Actually this is the only picture I made on my trip. I changed trains at Seinäjoki.
